WHAT IS COOLSCULPTING OR FAT FREEZING?
Coolsculpting is an FDA approved fat freezing treatment that is proven to reduce your stubborn fat cells by up to 30%. It is the most popular form of cryolipolysis. (Cryolipolysis refers to the process of where fat cells are cooled, frozen, destroyed and killed.).
Coolsculpting’s discovery was that at certain temperatures your fatty tissue undergoes cell death known as apoptosis. Your body then produces a local inflammatory response resulting in a reduction of the fatty tissue layer over months.
With over 7 million treatments performed worldwide, Coolsculpting has established itself as a proven, effective, safer and cheaper alternative then liposuction.
Unlike dieting which shrinks fat cells, Coolsculpting destroys fat cells, permanently removing them from your body
AREAS TREATED WITH COOLSCULPTING
You can target many problem areas with Coolsculpting, it has different sized applicators for specific areas. Coolsculpting can treat visible fat bulges in the following areas :
Under the chin: Chin fat or ‘Double chin’ can be effectively treated with Coolsculpting. The results can really transform your face. Smaller suction pads destroy fat cells in this stubborn area removing them for good.
Thigh: Define your legs and look and feel more comfortable in your shorts, trousers or gym wear. Achieve your goal whether it’s focusing on your saddlebags or ‘thigh gap’.
Abdomen: This is the most common treatment area for men and women as everyone wants to lose those spare rolls and have a flatter stomach.
Flanks (love handle): One of the first area fat goes to for many, it can be harder to remove then belly fat. Popular with men, Coolsculpting offers an effective solution for your love handles.
Bra fat: Bra fat can be targeted with pinpoint precision allowing you to wear your clothes with more confidence.
Back fat: Smaller suction pads can target back fat, permanently destroying fats cells so it will no longer spill over with any outfit you choose to wear.
Underneath the buttocks (or banana rolls): The infragluteal fold or banana roll is located underneath the buttocks. It’s another area where stubborn fat likes to hide away. Coolsculpting smooths out your banana rolls, banishing fat for good and giving you that beach body confidence.
Upper arms: Arm fat or ‘bingo wings’ can be a problem area. Results can be seen from as little as one 35 minute Coolsculpting session.
Coolsculpting precisely targets areas where fat is hard to lose by diet and exercise alone
WHAT HAPPENS DURING COOLSCULPTING TREATMENT?
During a Coolsculpting session, you can sit back and relax while the cooling applicators go to work freezing and destroying your fat cells. To get started the pads use a gentle suction motion to attach to you and you may feel a moments mild discomfort but the gentle suction and cooling sensations will eventually go numb.
The Coolsculpting suites at Premier Laser Liverpool Street, London and soon to open Bromley clinic in Kent, are designed to make you feel comfortable and relaxed. Refreshments are provided to make your session as unhurried and easygoing as possible.
You can also use your mobile phone, laptop or tablet to catch up with work, watch a movie or chat and message friends. They won’t interfere with the Coolsculpting equipment. Or you can simply chill out while the applicators busily work away transforming you.

What is Coolsculpting?
Coolsculpting is a leading non-invasive fat-reduction treatment. Non-invasive means that there is no surgery involved unlike Liposuction. It’s an innovative way to shape and contour your body by freezing unwanted fat. There is minimal expected downtime so you can walk out after your session and continue with your day. More than 7 million Coolsculpting treatment cycles have been performed worldwide.
How does Coolsculpting work?
Coolsculpting delivers precisely controlled cooling to target fat cells underneath your skin. Treated fat cells are frozen (crystallised), destroyed, and then over time your body naturally processes the fat through your lymphatic system and eliminates these dead cells resulting in up 30% fat reduction.
How is it different then liposuction ?
Liposuction is a type of cosmetic surgery that removes fat from the body in an attempt to change its shape. Unlike Coolsculpting which is non-invasive liposuction is invasive and serious complications include deep vein thrombosis, organ perforation, bleeding, and infection can occur.
With Coolsculpting there is no need for anesthesia whereas with Liposuction the procedure may be performed under general, regional, or local anesthesia.
Liposuction involves using a cannula and negative pressure to suck out fat whereas Coolsculpting involves placing a cooling pad on the surface of the skin.
With Liposuction, you will need a few days to recover and may need someone with you during the procedure to help you afterwards as you may awaken feeling dizzy and discombobulated. With Coolsculpting you can attend sessions by yourself and resume normal life immediately afterwards.
What happens during a Consultation?
Consultations take place in a warm, friendly and relaxing atmosphere with your Coolsculpting practitioner. Your Coolsculpting practitioner will take the time to discuss a holistic approach to your goals for reshaping your body. Together, you’ll look at your whole body from different angles, then focus on specific areas where you want to eliminate fat. Your practitioner will go through what to expect on the day and talk you through the process step by step. You will also get to see before and after pictures and discuss financing options if required.
Am I a good candidate for Coolsculpting?
The Coolsculpting fat-reduction procedure is specially designed for you if you have unwanted fat in specific areas like the waist, arms, thighs or chin.
Unlike weight-loss surgery (e.g. gastric bypass), Coolsculpting is not a weight-loss solution for obese people.
Good candidates for Coolsculpting have bulges in targeted areas they want to get rid of and many people want a non-surgical alternative to liposuction.
Can Coolsculpting reduce fat anywhere on my body?
Coolsculpting can treat visible fat bulges :
Under the chin
Flanks (love handle)
Underneath the buttocks (or banana rolls)
Your practitioner will create a customised treatment plan that’s tailored to your body and your personal goals.
I don’t like my double chin. Can Coolsculpting help me lose it?
Yes, Coolsculpting can treat visible fat bulges under the chin. Freezing away fat from a double chin is as easy as using Coolsculpting on other parts of the body (e.g., abdomen, flank/side, thighs).
What happens on the day of treatment?
You will be welcomed into the Coolsculpting suite at either our Liverpool Street or Bromley clinic where you receive the treatment. After you and your practitioner select the area(s) to be treated they are marked out and a gel pad and applicator are applied to the targeted area. The device is then positioned on your body and the vacuum applicators draw the tissue into the applicator cup. Applicators are then secured to the treatment area. All applicators deliver controlled cooling to the targeted fat. You are free to use your mobile phone, laptop or tablet as this does not interfere with equipment.
Can I multitask during my treatment, use my phone or laptop ?
You are encouraged to do what feels comfortable as long as treatment is not disrupted. You are able to use electronic devices like mobile phones and laptops as they do not interfere with equipment.
How long is each treatment? How many treatments will I need?
Your Coolsculpting practitioner will create a personalized treatment plan tailored to your goals. The length of your Coolsculpting treatment will depend on the number of areas being treated during one visit. Coolsculpting technology can treat you within 60 minutes. You and your practitioner may also schedule additional treatments to meet your goals.
What should I tell my Doctor ?
During your initial consultation your practitioner will ask you about your medical history to find out if Coolsculpting is right for you. It’s important to inform them if you have cryoglobulinaemia, cold agglutinin disease or paroxysmal cold haemoglobinuria, as you should not have Coolsculpting if you have any of these conditions.
Does it hurt?
As the name suggests Coolsculpting can be a little chilly!. Controlled cooling is delivered via an applicator to freeze the targeted fat. In the beginning you may feel intense cold, this feeling usually reduces as the area numbs. Because most applicators use a vacuum to suck fatty tissue into the applicator cup, you may also feel some pulling, tugging, and/or mild pinching.
Can I return to normal activities after my treatment?
Coolsculpting is completely non-surgical so typically you can return to normal activities almost immediately. Often our clients return to work straight after their Coolsculpting sessions. This will vary between people and may be dependent on the treatment area.
Is the CoolSculpting® procedure safe?
Coolsculpting is the leading non-invasive fat-reduction treatment worldwide. It has a well-established safety and efficacy profile. Coolsculpting systems are controlled cooling devices designed with built-in safety measures.
Our Coolsculpting specialists have undergone in-depth training and have many years of experience between them which ensures you receive the highest standards of care.
Coolsculpting systems are controlled cooling devices designed with built-in safety measures. If sensors detect that the skin is getting too cold, the system will shut down automatically, so there is very little risk to you.
Are there any side effects?
During the treatment you may experience pulling, tugging, mild pinching, intense cold, tingling, stinging, aching, and cramping sensations at the treatment spot. These sensations should reduce as the area becomes numb.
After treatment typical side effects include redness, swelling, blanching, bruising, firmness, tingling, stinging, tenderness, cramping, aching, itching, skin sensitivity and numbness. Numbness can last for up to several weeks. There may also be a sensation of fullness in the back of the throat after chin Coolsculpting treatment. Don’t worry these effects are temporary and generally resolve within days or weeks.
Though rare, some additional side effects such as paradoxical hyperplasia, late onset pain, freeze burn, vasovagal symptoms, subcutaneous induration, hyperpigmentation and hernia may also occur.
Coolsculpting is not for everyone. You should not have the Coolsculpting if you suffer from cryoglobulinaemia, cold agglutinin disease or paroxysmal cold haemoglobinuria. CoolSculpting is not a treatment for obesity.
As with any medical procedure, ask your Doctor if Coolsculpting is right for you.
Where does the fat go? Are the results permanent?
Once the treated fat cells are frozen (crystallised), they are destroyed and are processed naturally by the body before being eliminated when nature calls!. You will be asked to drink more water than normal to help your body flushing out the fat. Once the treated fat cells are gone, they’re gone for good!.
Is there downtime?
As Coolsculpting is completely non-surgical this means there is minimal downtime. Often, you can return to work directly after Coolsculpting. This will vary between people and may be dependent on the treatment area.
I’ve had my CoolSculpting procedure. Now what?
Always be sure to schedule a follow-up assessment with your Coolsculpting practitioner to review your results.
Is it safe?
Because this is a non-invasive procedure the risks are very low. Contour irregularities can occur the same way they might in liposuction. The Coolsculpting machine leaves less room for human error in terms of fat removal unlike liposuction which is heavily dependent on the skill of the surgeon. Wounds will not occur, and swelling is minimal.
Coolsculpting prices are calculated per cycle.
For example, if you wanted your arms treated that would require two cycles. One cycle for the left arm and one cycle for the right arm. The same is true for any body part where left and right sides are treated.
The most popular treatment in the UK is for 4 cycles.
As an introductory offer and for a limited time only 4 cycles is only 1800.
This is around 10% lower then other London clinics whos prices start at £2000 for 4 cycles.
We are happy to price match against any London clinic, simply present your quote during your consultation.
We also offer 0% finance on any treatment over £400 <click here> for more information.
