Frequently Asked Questions
How does iPixel laser treatment work?
iPixel directs a short, powerful burst of laser energy to the surface of the skin. This heats the surface water, turning both the water and the skin tissue into steam.
Each time it passes through the laser, a small area (or “pixel”) of the outermost layer of the skin is precisely controlled and removed. The surrounding skin tissue is unaffected and remains intact.
This process uses the body’s natural healing process to stimulate collagen growth and replace lost skin with new, healthy and smooth skin tissue.
Because the iPixel can be targeted so precisely, it has fewer side effects than ablative resurfacing lasers. This makes it suitable for treating skin on the face, neck, chest and hands with minimal irritation.
Each treatment session usually takes between 10 and 15 minutes, depending on the size of the area being treated.
How many treatments fo you recommend with Ipixel?
We usually recommend a programme of 3 to 5 treatments, at intervals of 4 weeks, but this may vary according to your skin condition.
During your consultation, we will discuss the sessions you will need and any issues or concerns about the procedure.
