The science behind Cryotherapy Fat Reduction

By Mary Basiadima, 7 December 2016

For decades, athletes across the globe have turned to Cryotherapy to help decrease their recovery times and deal with muscle and joint pain. Recently, however, it has been used in the world of weight loss to help increase the amount of weight you can lose in a fairly short amount of time.

What Is It?

Cryotherapy is the process of exposing the body to very low temperatures. During a session of Cryotherapy Fat Reduction or ‘fat freezing’, the area you would like treated will be suctioned into a device and held there for 60 minutes, as you lay back and relax. Cryotherapy targets the fat cells in your body, not the normal cells or tissues, and once it does, your lymph system breaks them down, then drains them out of your body.

A Quick Science Lesson

This ‘fat freezing’ process is called Apoptosis; the fat cells are exposed to -9 degrees cooling energy for the optimum results in non-surgical fat reduction. This process does not damage any surrounding areas or cells, only targeting the fat cells.

The new 360 degree cooling method used by our innovative device transfers cooling energy to the whole area, and maintains stable temperatures for optimum results.

How do the fat cells drain away?

The bodies natural waste drainage system, called the Lymphatic System, takes the broken down fat cells and remove them from the body naturally. This process takes up to 3 months, which is when you will see optimum results from the Cryotherapy treatment.

One way to boost this natural process is through Lipotripsy, which encourages the body to remove toxins and waste and helps to reduce a build up which can cause cellulite. By combining fat freezing and Lipotripsy, you can improve your results and see visible inch loss.

Cryotherapy Fat Reduction is a great way to jumpstart your weight loss program and eliminate the fat cells from your body fast, without the need for surgery or extensive downtime. To book a session or learn more about the process, contact us today!
