Restore Your Skin’s Natural Glow – Dermal Roller Treatment

By Mary Basiadima, 10 June 2014

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]What Causes Us To Age With Time?

Collagen is the skin’s natural connective tissue…it’s the stuff that holds it all together basically and as we age, our collagen production slows down. This is a natural process and after the age of around 50 we’ve lost about half of our natural ability to make collagen and this of course has a knock-on effect in terms of the way our skin looks.

Older skin lacks the natural “bounce” which younger skin has…it can also appear greyish and lacking in colour…not to mention those wrinkles of course! The skin industry is a huge one with hundreds of treatments and ointments out there which are designed to improve the texture and appearance of our skin but not all of them have much effect!

Dermal Roller Treatment

Dermal rollers or Dermapen are however one treatment which has received positive reports from the many people who have given it a go. Otherwise known as microneedling, it’s a very simple treatment and while it can be a little uncomfortable it is also very effective in brightening the skin considerably and this is in part down to the role which they play in encouraging the production of collagen in the skin.

If you’re not sure what dermal roller treatment is, it’s basically the practice of using a small spiked roller to “prick” the skin of the face all over. The practitioner prepares the face with a special anaesthetic cream and this ensures that some of the sting is taken out of the treatment. Then the roller is gently applied all over the face.

Does It Hurt?

Although the treatment isn’t painful, it can cause a little discomfort; after a treatment your skin may look rather red and a little sore but this is only temporary and soon fades. Because of this side effect make sure that you leave a day or even better, two days to recover before going on any special outing!

The dermal roller is a simple but highly effective treatment in the fight against ageing and after a treatment people report a more youthful glow to their skin and an improvement in texture.

Give Your Skin A Boost!

If your skin is looking a little lacklustre, dermal roller treatment could be just the thing to give you a fresher appearance! Dermal rollers can be used to treat a myriad of skin problems including acne scarring, uneven pigmentation, fine lines and minor scars. By stimulating the collagen in your skin it helps to fight these signs of ageing or problem skin and most sessions don’t take more than ten minutes. Soon after your treatment the tiny “holes” made by the roller will close up and the improvement process begins!

Many people report seeing an improvement in their skin after only 24 hours…why not give dermal rollers a try and see the change in your skin? Speak to your nearest clinic about making an appointment for a consultation as this is the first step in booking a session of dermal roller skin treatment and you should always see a professional regarding any invasive treatments before considering giving them a try![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
